Mount Bromo is an active volcano, it is not the highest peak of the massif, but is the most active and famous. The area is one of the most visited tourist destinations in East Java.
A typical way to visit Mount Bromo by take an organized jeep tour, including stops at the view point of Mount Penanjakan. The sights on Mount Penanjakan can also be reached on foot in about two hours. Depending on the level of volcanic activity, the Indonesian Center for Volcanology and Disaster Mitigation sometimes issues a warning not to visit Mount Bromo.

Itinerary:

• 15.00 - 16.00 – Departure from Bali
• 20.00 – Arrive at Gilimanuk Port and cross to Java Island by ferry
• 22.30 – Arrive in Java and head towards Mount Bromo
• 03.30 – Begin Jeep Tour to sunrise viewpoint and take photos at scenic spots
• 06.00 – Climb the volcano (takes about 2 hours)
• 08.00 – Descend from Mount Bromo
• 09.00 – Depart back to Ketapang Port
• 18.00 – Arrive at your hotel in Bali
